3. Basement
a) Storage areas and floor space:
*
All shelves are securely fastened in place and properly anchored against the walls and/or the floors
All heavy items and objects are stored between shoulder and knee height
No shelves or any other storage units are overloaded
Workshop and laundry room are tidy
b) Floor spaces and walkways
*
Any unavoidable or temporary hazards such as electrical wires, safety equipment or wet surfaces (such as recently mopped floorspaces) are clearly marked
c) Safety Equipment
*
Eye goggles, dust masks and ear muffs are put away in workshop, easy to access and functional as well as making sure a set of earplugs is hung by the basement fire alarm
d) Hazardous Materials
*
All paints, chemicals and other hazardous / flammable materials and dangerous substances are stored in the Safety Storage cabinet in basement workshop
SDS data sheet binder is on shelf in laundry room for chemicals in basement workshop, laundry room and basement bathroom
