Health and Safety at Friends House

                       Friends House Employees must know about:

  •  Specific hazards at Friends House

  • The procedure to follow when reporting health and safety concerns, incidents and injuries
Any safety concerns incidents or injuries should be reported to Karsten Stryker who is the appointed Health and Safety representative.

  • Any protective equipment you are required to wear or use
Eye goggles, dust masks, and ear muffs are located in the workshop in the basement. A set of earplugs is located by the fire alarm, to be used when testing and re-setting the alarm.

  • Where the first aid station is and the names of qualified first aid providers:
Ground floor:
 - First aid kit is on the wall on the left of the kitchen entrance
 -  Naloxone kit is above first aid kit
 - Additional first aid supplies are in the kitchen in the first cupboard to the left upon entering, above the  cleaning supplies

 - Defibrillator is on the wall on the right of the kitchen entrance
 
Third floor:
- First aid kit is in kitchen first cupboard on left, on shelf above cleaning supplies


  • Fire safety plan
Fire plan is on shelf above computer monitor in the Resident Friend's office, in labeled red binder, and can be accessed online, here. Please read it through and familiarize yourself with the location of pull stations and fire extinguishers. 

  • The workplace violence and workplace harassment policies
 The TMM Sexual Abuse and Harassment Policy is in the Resident Friends Office, and can be found online, here.

  • TMM Health and Safety Program and General Policies (Employee Version)
The TMM Health and Safety Program and General Policies is on the Health and Safety board outside the RF-M office, and can be downloaded, here.
